A foundation can be the single most expensive item of your home or new addition's construction, so some might argue that this is the area to cut corners to save money. We at Lipscomb Concrete disagree wholeheartedly, not because that is our specialization, but because we've seen many unsatisfied homeowners who have tried to save money in this way, only to realize that a quality foundation can save money in the long run. For example, if a foundation is constructed with inadequate materials and poor workmanship, this will result in a foundation that is out of square, and varies in elevation. So it doesn't look too pretty, but that doesn't matter in the course to come, right? WRONG! If your foundation is not straight and level, it affects every subsequent construction effort. Framing crews will have to adjust and shim the walls and floors. Cabinets will not fit in corners as well. Tile floors will need to be cut to fit in corners that are out of square. And don't forget about the roofers, electricians, plumbers, stucco masons, etc. All of those "adjustments" take time, and as everybody knows, time is money. Our argument is do not let the foundation be the place to save money on what is arguably your most important investment, your home. We have done foundations that range from simple stem-wall tract home types, to elaborate hillside multi-level custom homes. We at Lipscomb Concrete take pride in our work, and it shows in the quality of our product, and the satisfaction of our customers.
